COACH ASH

Ashley Stephen, M.S. Exercise Science

Ash is the owner of Bucktown Assembly. A former collegiate basketball player and competitive HYROX athlete, he blends real-world experience with proven training principles to all of his clients. With 10 years of coaching experience and a background teaching kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, he brings both depth and expertise to every session.

His approach is straightforward and individualized — built around how you move, not a one-size-fits-all template. He works with beginners, athletes coming back to action, clients in need of rehab, and athletes focused on sport specific training.

COACH KB

Kim "KB" Bello, Strength & Conditioning Coach

Coach KB is a Strength & Conditioning Coach with 7 years of experience and a background in CrossFit and HYROX. She specializes in coaching athletes who are new to strength training, returning after time away, or preparing for HYROX and other strength-endurance events.

Her coaching combines strength training and purposeful conditioning to build real-world strength, endurance, and confidence, with hard work, a little humor, and a belief that strong women make each other stronger. She's especially passionate about helping women find their footing in the weight room, showing them just how capable they really are. Expect honest coaching, structured programming, and a clear focus on getting stronger and performing your best.

COACH ADAM

Adam Swantz, NSCA CPT

Coach Adam Swantz is an NSCA Certified Personal Trainer, International Kettlebell University Level 3 Trainer, CrossFit Level 1 Coach, and Hyrox competitor.

A former high school athlete and basketball coach, Adam is comfortable across a wide range of training styles, including strength, kettlebells, functional fitness, conditioning, and endurance, and he's the coach behind Kettlebell Club, built around the same movement quality he brings to every session. He works with clients to build results that last, one attentive rep at a time.

Outside the gym, Adam brings over 20 years of leadership experience with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where developing people and building genuine connections has always been central to his work, a commitment that carries directly into his coaching.

COACH KELLY

Kelly Jamieson, High Intensity Coach

Coach Kel is your resident high intensity coach. Kelly grew up competing as a track athlete and never really left the world of sport, and that same competitive drive now shows up on the other side of Assembly Track Club Bucktown, where she's currently programming for the Bucktown 5k.

She started coaching in 2020, and in 2022 ran her first HYROX race and fell in love with the format immediately. She's been competing ever since, bringing that same performance focused energy into every session she coaches.

Kelly believes knowledge builds confidence, and confidence changes your fitness journey. When someone walks in unsure of themselves and walks out knowing exactly what they're capable of, that's everything to her. Her goal is simple: give every person the tools to be confident inside the gym and out.

COACH ERIC

Eric Bolden, StrongFirst SFG I & SFL

Coach Eric brings 20+ years of experience in strength, conditioning, and performance. What started as a young athlete’s obsession with finding ways to perform better has evolved into a lifelong pursuit of getting stronger, staying capable, and competing for the long haul. His philosophy hasn’t changed much along the way — train with purpose, embrace hard things, and always be ready to compete. Don’t be surprised to hear Coach E say he’s training to win the Masters division.

His coaching style is demanding, supportive, and highly adaptable. There are no free lunches, but he’ll be in your corner every step of the way. His experience ranges from coaching youth athletes in the U.S. and overseas to training military and federal law enforcement personnel, group classes, 1:1 clients, and remote athletes. Across all of them, his focus is the same: communicate clearly, meet people where they are, and help them become stronger and more capable than they thought possible.

Eric holds certifications through Precision Nutrition (PN1), Barbell Rehab Method, CrossFit Level 1, and BioForce, and competes as much as he coaches — a 3× U.S. Strongman Nationals qualifier, Berlin and Chicago Marathon finisher, former NCAA Division I football walk-on running back, and USA Lacrosse Academic All-American.
